Wooden garden sheds can be as unique as the gardener. They can be decorated in many ways to match their personality. A wooden shed can blend right in to its surroundings or stick out and make a statement. A garden shed can be very personable, beautiful and yet have an extremely important use.

A wooden shed that is used to store lawn and garden equipment is generally small in nature with 8 feet by 6 feet and 6 feet by 4 feet being very popular. These sheds can be made by the do it yourself person or purchased built or in kit form. The smaller shed has a one piece frame design that has floor, walls and roof rafter in one piece. You can also hand frame everything. The floor of these garden sheds are generally framed with 2 x 4 green treated lumber. The floor sheathing is generally a green treated plywood attached to the framing on sixteen inch centers. The wall framing is also 2 x 4 constructed and sheathed with plywood or oriented strand board. The roof can have hand framed rafters or truss designed rafters. There also can be dormers to add little details in the project. They can have many different window and door options. The siding options are endless as well with choices like cedar, log, vinyl, metal and other products. They generally have asphalt or fiberglass shingles but some do have a metal roof. There are so many different color possibilities and some wood sided ones are painted with flowers and other decor. Some are decorated with window boxes with flowers growing in them.

Keep your Garage Clear of Clutter
Wooden garden sheds have so many functional uses. You can store a broad range of garden tools including rakes, shovels, and hoes in them. Some are big enough to house tillers and mowers in. You can also store bulbs and seeds in the dark spaces in the shed. Fertilizers and chemicals used in the garden can also be stored out of the way in your garden shed.
